Stress Model-Based Life Coaching in Sierra Vista

You may not need mental-health treatment. You may need a clearer direction, a workable plan and someone who will help you examine choices honestly and follow through.

Stress Model-Based Life Coaching is a nonclinical service for stable adults and families working on goals, decisions, accountability and everyday life transitions.

Coaching Is for Direction, Decisions & Follow-Through

Coaching is most useful when two things are present: you are willing to change and grow, and there is a meaningful gap between where you are now and where you want to be.

A coach can serve as a thinking partner, sounding board, source of accountability and respectful reality check. The coach does not decide your life for you or provide a clinical treatment plan.

What Life Coaching Can Help With

  • Clarifying goals, values and priorities.
  • Making career or education decisions.
  • Improving follow-through and accountability.
  • Setting boundaries and communicating more clearly.
  • Balancing work, family and personal responsibilities.
  • Planning for retirement, relocation or another nonclinical transition.
  • Creating family goals, routines and a more intentional family culture.
  • Turning a broad intention into a realistic action plan.

Using the Stress Model in Coaching

Stress can still affect nonclinical goals. A person may avoid a decision, overreact to ordinary pressure, lose focus or use short-term relief that works against the larger plan.

In coaching, the Stress Model is used to notice triggers and responses, clarify needs and improve decision-making. It is not used to diagnose or treat a mental-health condition.

Coaching for High-Responsibility Lives

Military members, veterans, contractors, blue-collar professionals, leaders, parents and business owners may use coaching to think through direction, workload, family balance, career dissatisfaction or the transition into a new role.

When distress, trauma symptoms, severe anxiety, depression, suicidal thinking or serious relationship injury is central, psychotherapy or another clinical service is the appropriate starting point.

Coaching Is Not Psychotherapy

Life coaching does not diagnose or treat PTSD, depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD or other mental-health conditions. It is not trauma therapy, marriage therapy, crisis care or medication management.

Licensed psychotherapy is available separately through Attainable Family Solutions when clinical treatment is more appropriate. We will discuss the boundary openly and recommend a different service or referral when needed.

What Coaching Looks Like

We begin by defining the gap between where you are and where you want to be. Then we identify obstacles, evaluate options, choose a realistic action and establish how follow-through will be reviewed.

Coaching may be provided in person or by video depending on the client location, goal and current service availability. Coaching is private pay and is not billed to insurance.

Trauma can be caused by many different things and show itself in different ways. Dwayne Kruse MA LMFT - Attainable Family Solutions specializes in this broad category and has assisted everyone from children to adults to deal with their trauma, PTSD, and related conditions in a way that allows them to lead happier, healthier, and more free lives. Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is life coaching?

Life coaching is a nonclinical service that helps stable clients clarify goals, evaluate decisions, build accountability and follow through on practical action.

  • How is coaching different from therapy?

Therapy addresses emotional distress, mental-health symptoms, trauma and relationship injuries. Coaching focuses on goals, decisions and nonclinical transitions.

  • Can coaching treat anxiety, depression, ADHD or PTSD?

No. Coaching does not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions. Someone with a diagnosis may sometimes use coaching for a separate stable goal, but clinical symptoms require appropriate treatment.

  • Can coaching help with family or parenting goals?

Yes, when the focus is nonclinical: shared values, routines, expectations, accountability and intentional family culture. Serious conflict, trauma or behavioral-health symptoms may require family therapy instead.

  • Can military members or contractors use coaching?

Yes, for nonclinical goals such as career direction, reintegration planning, family routines, retirement or another transition. Clinical distress belongs in therapy.

  • Is coaching available by video?

It may be, depending on client location, the goal and current availability. Call to confirm whether coaching, therapy or another service is the appropriate fit.
